The professional standards that guide our members

Professional Standards

As members of the Missouri Alliance of Professional Bail Agents, we commit ourselves to the highest standards of ethical conduct. Our Code of Ethics serves as a guide for professional behavior and ensures that we maintain the trust of the courts, law enforcement, and the communities we serve.

1 Integrity

Members shall conduct all business with honesty, integrity, and fairness. We shall not engage in any practice that would bring discredit to the bail bond profession or mislead the public, courts, or law enforcement.

2 Professional Competence

Members shall maintain a thorough knowledge of bail bond laws, regulations, and procedures. We commit to ongoing education and professional development to ensure we provide the highest quality service.

3 Respect for the Law

Members shall respect and comply with all federal, state, and local laws governing the bail bond industry. We shall cooperate fully with courts, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies.

4 Client Confidentiality

Members shall respect the confidentiality of client information and shall not disclose private information except as required by law or with the client's consent.

5 Fair Treatment

Members shall treat all clients, defendants, and co-signers with dignity and respect, regardless of race, religion, gender, national origin, or economic status. We shall not discriminate in the provision of services.

6 Truthful Advertising

Members shall ensure that all advertising and promotional materials are truthful, accurate, and not misleading. We shall not make false claims about services, fees, or success rates.

7 Fee Transparency

Members shall clearly disclose all fees and charges to clients before entering into any bail bond agreement. We shall not engage in deceptive pricing practices.

8 Fiduciary Responsibility

Members shall handle all funds and collateral with the utmost care and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. We shall maintain accurate records and account for all transactions.

9 Professional Courtesy

Members shall treat fellow bail bond agents, court personnel, and law enforcement officers with professional courtesy and respect. We shall not engage in conduct that undermines the profession.

10 Community Responsibility

Members shall strive to be responsible members of the community, supporting public safety and contributing positively to the communities we serve.
